Bodegas Labastida
Bodegas Labastida is located in the municipality of Labastida, Rioja Alavesa. The history of this small municipality and its wineries was marked by the figure of Manuel Quintano who, back in 1786, introduced Bordeaux techniques to aging wine in Rioja. Manuel Quintano wanted to transmit the character of the grape, over time through aging.
Due to its cooperative origin, Bodegas y Viñedos Labastida has always maintained the need to look to the future with a desire to improve, but with a very well-defined ideology: “our wines must be founded on the experience of winegrowers so that, only with quality grapes we will be able to produce quality wines ”.
Covered by the Sierra del Toloño, with its peak of 1,200 m. altitude, our vineyard extends through the most northwestern part of Rioja Alavesa. It is one of the most favorable areas in Rioja for growing vines, offering unbeatable conditions to produce grapes with personality and unique character. Protected from the Atlantic wind and rains, while taking advantage of the Mediterranean winds brought by the Ebro, the result is a perfect balance of rainfall, with warm days and cool nights, which makes the Labastida vineyards one of the best of Rioja.
