Ecos de Varal
Bodegas Varal has spent years tending their vineyards using Organic Viticulture methods, and have obtained certification as an organic wine producer.
After years of work and testing to determine how to make its first organic wine, Bodegas Varal released Ecos de Varal 2013.
Ecos de Varal 2013 is made from 90% Tempranillo and 10% Viura grapes which were de-stemmed. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were carried out in steel tanks at a controlled temperature and subsequently the wine was aged in new French oak barrels for five months.
Ecos de Varal 2013 is a very interesting proposal that more than meets requirements to be an organic wine. The selection of grapes, the careful wine making and the ageing in high quality oak barrels is made for a the savvy consumer who will find floral and fruit essences and a marked character of the terroir which is well integrated with toasty and spicy nuances.
The proposal is very attractive, but the best is yet to come. Ecos de Varal 2013 is a wine that over the coming months will continue to improve in the bottle.
